ESP was formed to fill a gap in the market for electronic design services by integrating design capability with follow-through into volume manufacturing. Many independent design operations will cease their involvement when the product design is frozen; ESP have the expertise and relationships to take the project through into volume contract manufacturing if required or, alternatively, ensure that standard or modified standard products, either commercial grade or ruggedised, are available to meet the exact requirements of the specific project.
Specialising in the housing, thermal management, EMC design, MMI design and productionisation of electronic products, ESP has an established track record in bringing new projects to a successful launch in short timescales.
Based on impressive internal expertise and resources, supported by a cluster of specialist service providers whose skills are available as and when needed, the design side of the business provides a menu-pricing approach to clients who do not have sufficient capabilities to bring new projects to fruition in a reasonable timescale or who need to update and cost-down existing designs. Contract management skills and logistics capabilities are available in-house to ensure a seamless transition from development to full production. The close partnership relationships with three complementary but separate organisations ensures that the optimum electro-mechanical solution for the job can be provided.
Intrinsic expertise and cluster capability
ESP Technologies Limited bringing core technical and commercial competencies to the business and also to manage the specialised services provided as required by any specific project. The company was established in 2005 to meet a growing market need for a total capability company in electronic enclosures and systems.
Paul Hoath, Commercial Director, has been in the electronics industry for more than 30 years, working for international and domestic manufacturers in business, product development, project and contract management roles, predominantly in global projects for the Telecoms, Medical and Industrial markets, with particular expertise in connector and press-fit interconnection technology, which is of great importance in the design of high performance controlled impedance multilayer backplanes, the critical I/O interface and internal data highway found in the great majority of today’s complex electronic systems in virtually all application areas.
As a specialist resource capability, ESP provides companies with design capability that can be brought on-stream as and when required, giving better control of the cost base as well as tapping into a wealth of experience in board and product design, system integration, cost-down programmes and prototype and volume production of simple and complex board level and integrated systems. In addition to its in-house core capabilities, ESP is also a portal gateway providing access to a cluster of specialist services such as EMC testing, environmental testing, industrial design and thermal simulation and analysis.
